“Character Profile” –Lily Aldrin!!!

Played by Alyson Hannigan and born in 1978, is a kindergarten teacher. She is married to Marshall Eriksen and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Lily also dreams of being an artist and at one point paints a portrait of Marshall in the nude. She also has a huge debt problem because of her impulsive buying practices. She is able to hide this from Marshall until they apply for a mortgage. She cannot keep a secret, and is often shown to be the most selfish and spoiled of the group, but despite those traits she is a very caring person and will much of the time do thankless acts for the good of her friends. She met Marshall and Ted in college and almost immediately started dating Marshall.

They were together for about 9 years and engaged for almost a year when Lily broke up with Marshall to move to San Francisco to concentrate on her art. She was there for a summer and came back to NYC but Marshall was too hurt that they stayed separated for another couple months afterward. They eventually patched things up and got married. They moved into an apartment in Dowisetrepla which they do not know at first stands for Down Wind of the Sewage Treatment Plant.

They want children, but for a while are scared so they don't try. Later Lily and Marshall make a bet that once they have seen the doppelganger of every member of their gang they will start trying for a child. By the summer of 2010 they have seen all but Barney's doppelganger when Lily sees what she thinks his doppelganger (it wasn't). The rest of the gang knew this meant she was ready for a child and let her believe it.

“Character Profile” –Barney Stinson!!!

Played by Neil Patrick Harris and born in 1976, Barney is a womanizer, favors suits, enjoys playing laser tag and performing magic tricks often involving fire, and frequently uses the words "awesome" and "legendary," which Ted believes he uses too liberally.

Barney was engaged to a woman in college, and when she broke up with him (leaving him still a virgin), his black American African, gay brother arranged for him to lose his virginity. The woman claimed he was awesome (as a favor to Barney's brother) which ignited Barney's unlimited confidence. Prior to losing his virginity, Barney was a long-haired hippie with plans to join the Peace corps.

Soon after he got into wearing suits. Shortly after this he met Ted Mosby (in a stall in the bathroom) and became friends with him and his college pals Lily and Marshall. Several years after that the gang added Robin. During this time he was a womanizer who worked for a bank. Even though he seemed to be anti-marriage he thought that Lilly and Marshall as well as Ted and Robin made good pairs. When Lilly and Marshall broke up Barney actually flew to San Francisco to convince her to come home. Two years after Ted and Robin broke up Barney realized that he had fallen for Robin. He did nothing about it for a while, but for a short while they were a couple.

How I Met Your Mother Flashback: Season 4!

Stella says "yes" to Ted's marriage proposal. Robin takes a new job in Japan, but quickly resigns, returning to New York to attend Ted's wedding. Stella leaves Ted at the altar to get back together with Tony, the father of her daughter. Barney struggles with his feelings for Robin as his company shifts him to the management team of a new acquisition, Goliath National Bank (GNB).

Marshall and Lily move to their new apartment and debate over whether or not they're ready to have children. Robin becomes roommates with Ted and gets a job as an anchor for a 4 am news show after Barney sends out her video resume. Ted finds out about Barney's feelings for Robin when Ted and Robin sleep together constantly so they won't fight over each others bad co-living habits.
Ted finds out Lily has sabotaged all of his relationships with anyone she doesn't approve of and indirectly may have inspired his breakup with Robin. Robin and Ted end up talking about it, causing their friendship to begin moving toward a positive note. As Barney finally sleeps with his 200th woman, after rubbing it in the face of the childhood bully that taunted him into pursuing it, he questions what the rest of his life would be about now, leaving him more certain of his feelings for Robin.
Ted, while carrying the yellow umbrella, bumps into Stella and Tony. Tony later decides to visit him, sympathizing with Ted over his loss of Stella. Tony offers him a job as a professor of architecture, which Ted initially turns down.
In the season finale Robin finds out about Barney's love for her, which she cautiously reciprocates. Ted decides he is done being an architect and finally decides to instead teach architecture classes. The finale ends with Ted preparing to teach his first class and Futue Ted revealing that one of the women in the class is their mother.

“Character Profile” –Robin Scherbatsky!!!

Played by Cobie Smulders and born in 1980, she is a TV news reporter/co-host of a 4 AM TV news show, 'Come On Get Up New York'. She was originally from Canada and named after her father, who treated her more like a boy than a girl. For most of the second season, she dated Ted after Ted spent much of the first season pursuing her romantically.
Early in the first season, it was established that she does not become Ted's wife, instead becoming "Aunt Robin" to Ted's children. Despite their break-up, there continued to be some sexual tension between them throughout most of the third season, most obviously when Robin brought home her new Argentinian boyfriend from the trip she and Ted had planned together.

As a teenager, she was a bubblegum pop singer named Robin Sparkles who toured malls across Canada following her minor hit "Let's Go to the Mall" and debacle "Sandcastles in the Sand." Her first boyfriend was Simon, who starred in her second music video.

In season 4, Robin moves in with Ted after leaving her short-lived job in Japan. During the fourth season finale, she and Barney pursue a relationship, but they mutually end it later in season 5. One of her idiosyncrasies include having predilections towards fights. She also is frequently made fun of for her tendency to laugh while lying. Though she stated explicitly throughout the seasons that she does not like children, “future” Ted mentioned that she eventually grew to like children.

"Unfinished" Episode 3 Recap!

The new episode aired last night..Okay so I was right about some points. The "Unfinished" buisness was that of the design for the GNB building but the episode focuses more on Barney always getting the YES. Not from women this time but from Ted!

The promotional photo's posted yesterday depict Ted finally accepting the offer to build the Manhattan GNB headquarters until Marshall stops him and tells him that there is no other offer from another architect (Barney was just putting on the moves so that Ted would accept it.) Marshall only lies because he wants to be Barney's wingman.

Throughout the episode we also discover that Robin is DEFINATELY not over Don particularly after she sees him on news.. from then on she keeps calling him and telling him she wants to kill him. Lily keeps trying to convince her to move on and delete his number but shes memorised it and keeps calling him. She later comes to the resolution that her and Don will always be unfinished.

Soon after Ted also realises that his vision of the GNB building is also unfinished  and runs to Barney's office to tell him the news but before than makes him take him to dinner :)

Check out the photos for tonight's episode "Unfinished" !

Its pretty clear that its something about buisness this time!
The only business that Ted and Barney have in common is the designing for the GNB building and that's definately 'unfinished'!

My prediction...Ted will accept it. This may be the building that he once discussed with his children telling them "that was the first building i ever designed.."

EITHER WAY..i feel like we're close to discovering who the mother is!

Season 6, Episode 2 Preview & Recap!

Another week, another new episode of HIMYM. So here is the preview of episode 2 of season 6, Cleaning house

Credit

This episode mostly centres around Barney as he and the gang help out his mum prepare to move out of his childhood home. His brother James (Wayne Brady) also makes an appearance. As they begin to pack, Barney uncovers a letter with a picture of him and James with an inscription at the back saying "Your Son". After years of Loretta (Barney and James' mother) hiding who their fathers are, James immediately decides to go to whom this letter was addressed to. It becomes an emotional journey for both the brothers as James finally meets who his real father is, Sam (guest star Ben Vereen), and also Barney... who finally comes to terms that Bob Barker is not his father, but later is oblivious to the fact the this African American man is not his father. Although Loretta speaks to Barney and passes a written note of whom his real father is. But will he accept it? Will he finally know who his father is? I'll let you guys know that for yourselves.

Meanwhile, Ted is still looking for 'the one' as Robin sets him up with her 'hot' make-up artist...but oversells his image. Marshall and Lily are still discussing about how they will raise their children - Santa or no Santa? As the concept of the episode is about lies, they debate whether they want their children to grow up knowing about Santa, to which Lily argues that she will not lie to her kids.

Overall, an enjoyable episode and we also get an impromptu performance by Barney with James and Sam.

Recap of the last episode of Season 5!

Doppelgangers

At the beginning of this episode, Marshall is overexcited about having a baby whilst Lily is still having second thoughts, they eventually reach a compromise that they will start trying to have a baby when they see the last doppelganger - Barney. Soon enough they see Barneys doppelganger driving a taxi cab but later find out its only another one of Barneys many pick up tactics, he picks up women from the UN headquarters in order to complete his aim of sleeping with one woman from every planet.

Meanwhile, Robin is offerred a lead anchor job at a rival station but turns it down in order to stay with Don as the job was in Chicago. This is the first time throughout the series that Robin puts her love life before her job (remember when Robin and Ted are supposed to go to a wedding together but she ditches him for work and then he meets Victoria.)

Barney is also struggling with the idea of a baby being part of the group but once he hears of Robin's potential departure he realises that it might not be such a negative thing and tries to become the fourth doppelganger by dressing up as an Estonian street performer. Marshall and Lily see through his charade and assure him that he will still be a part of their family.

Upon rejecting her job offer Robin is told by Don that he received and accepted (wth! :O) job in Chicago. They break up and Robin moves back into Ted's apartment. Ted and Robin nearly make out but its clear to both them and the viewers that whatever they may have previously had is now gone and that they are the best of friends.

Four months later, Lily sees a street vendor selling pretzels who she believes is Barney's Doppelganger however when she calls the rest of the gang to see him they see no resemblence. Just about as Barney's about to say something Marshall stops him. It is clear to them now that Lily wants to have a baby :)

Meanwhile Robin and Ted's new relationship is having its ups and downs, partly thanks to Barney who uses Teds name to pickup women across town infuriating Robin. Marshall ends up hitting it off with a new woman but Barney and Ted force him to break it off because she has "crazy eyes". Marshall and Lily end up back together and Elope to Atlantic City only to get "unmarried" 12 seconds later so Marshalls family can be present. We meet Barneys brother James who reveals to Barney that he is gay, and Marshall wins a "Slap Bet" against Barney allowing him to slap Barney 5 times whenever he wants, one of which he uses on the spot.

With Lily and Marshalls marriage on track they plan a wedding and Barney appoints himself in charge of the Bachelor party which hilariously doesnt go to plan. Season 6 preview and recap

Before I begin with the recap, here is a sneak peek of the first episode of season 6  'Big days'

Credit:
The much anticipated new season of How I Met Your Mother is finally here! The writers did not wait for anything to make their viewers intrigued as the opening scene begins at a Church with Ted dressed in a three piece suit! His wedding perhaps? Hmm interesting.

Without giving too much away, Lily is having problems with Marshall's 'over-excitement' about starting a family, Robin is looking a little worse for wear in the first half as she try's to cope with her break-up with Don, Ted spots out a girl at the bar until Barney calls dibs. But he later finds out that she is meeting up with Cindy (the girl that he previously dated, played by Rachel Bilson). Could she be the mysterious room-mate?

Like every How I Met Your Mother episodes, this has alot of hilarious punchlines, and also some twists at the end. From a viewers perspective, I think that each character had their fair share of screen time but a prominant focus of Lily and Marshall. Also something is telling me that the Barney and Robin tandem is going to make a comeback. But oh well, we will just have to wait and see! I've got a feeling that this season is going to be legend-I hope you're not lactose intolerant cos the next part is-dary! :)

How I Met Your Mother Season 6!

So, according to HIMYM CBS twitter account, How I Met Your Mother Season 6 will air on the 20th of September 2010! It won't be shown on local Australian television for a while so we just have to wait for channel 7 to give us the heads up.

Remember the final episode of season 5 called Doppelganger where Marshall & Lily make a deal to try to conceive when they see the final doppelganger, doppelganger Barney? Well, my guess is that Lily is going to have trouble conceiving.. dun dun dun. It'll probably be done to extend the plot line. But yes, that's just my two cents :)

But, check out the HIMYM CBS twitter at http://twitter.com/himym_cbs for more updates on this awesome show!
